Air Transat to Cancel Flights Amid Pilots’ Strike Notice

Strike Notice Triggers Flight Suspensions

Air Transat announced that it will begin cancelling flights starting Monday after pilots issued a 72-hour strike notice. The Air Line Pilots Association may start job action at 3 a.m. Eastern on Wednesday if negotiations fail to reach an agreement.

In anticipation, Air Transat is preparing to cancel flights progressively and repatriate passengers, crews, and aircraft to ensure travellers are not stranded abroad.

Planned Flight Suspensions

The airline stated that cancellations will start gradually on Monday and escalate until a complete suspension of flights is in effect by December 9. The company is coordinating logistics to minimize disruption for passengers and staff.

Air Transat also provided guidance to help affected travellers plan accordingly, including instructions on refunds, rebooking options, and customer support contact channels.

Passenger Guidance

Travellers are encouraged to check the status of their flights regularly and follow updates from the airline. The company is prioritizing safety and aims to manage cancellations efficiently while maintaining clear communication with all passengers.
