PM Netanyahu Condemns Terrorist Attacks, Vows to Defeat Hamas

At the start of a government meeting on Sunday, September 8, 2024, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu addressed the nation following the killing of three Israeli citizens by a terrorist at the Allenby Bridge. He expressed deep condolences to the families of those murdered and highlighted the ongoing threat posed by terrorism fueled by Iran’s “axis of evil.”

Netanyahu pointed to recent terrorist actions, including the murder of six hostages and three Israel Police officers, emphasizing that the attackers do not discriminate and seek to destroy all Israelis, regardless of background. He underscored the importance of unity in the face of these threats, stating that the strength of the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF), the courage of soldiers and security forces, and the resilience of the Israeli people are what protect the nation.

Referring to a recently published Hamas document, Netanyahu warned that the group aims to create division within Israel through psychological warfare and political pressure. Despite these efforts, he reaffirmed Israel’s commitment to eliminating Hamas, securing the release of hostages, and ensuring that Gaza no longer poses a threat to Israel.

In his closing remarks, Netanyahu invoked the biblical question, “Shall the sword devour forever?” emphasizing that in the Middle East, strength is essential for survival. He vowed that Israel would stand united and, with the help of G-d, emerge victorious.–News Desk
