PTI Withdraws Claim of Hundreds Dead at D-Chowk

PTI Retracts Claim of Hundreds Killed at D-Chowk

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has retracted its previous claim that hundreds of party workers were killed during clashes with security forces at D-Chowk in Islamabad on November 26. The party now states that 12 people lost their lives in the incident.

PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar, after meeting with PTI founder Imran Khan at Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi, spoke to the media, explaining that Khan had been unaware of the events due to limited access to news. Gohar also conveyed that Imran Khan had honored the efforts of the protestors, urging the party to raise the issue in parliament.

Gohar emphasized that Khan condemned the use of force during the protests and expressed deep sorrow over the deaths of police, Rangers, and PTI workers. He called for an investigation into the use of firearms during the sit-in, asserting that no shots should have been fired.

The PTI chairman also conveyed a message to party members, urging unity despite attempts to create divisions. Gohar further clarified that only 12 workers had been martyred, rejecting previous claims by party leaders, including Ali Amin Gandapur, about higher death tolls.
