Russia Says No Evidence Iran Is Pursuing Nuclear Weapons
Russian President Vladimir Putin has stated that neither Russia nor the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has found evidence that Iran is developing nuclear weapons. He added that Moscow has repeatedly conveyed this position to Israel.
Speaking during a press conference, Putin emphasized that ongoing inspections by the IAEA have not revealed any activity suggesting Iran intends to build nuclear arms. He urged all parties to rely on verified international assessments rather than speculation.
The comments come amid rising tensions between Israel and Iran, with concerns growing over the stability of the region and the future of the 2015 nuclear agreement, formally known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).
Putin reiterated Russia’s support for diplomatic engagement and the need to maintain transparency in nuclear monitoring efforts.
