MOSCOW
Russia’s Defense Ministry announced on Wednesday that its forces captured two additional settlements in Ukraine’s eastern Donetsk region.
The ministry specified that the villages of Antonivka and Maksymivka came under Russian control following an operation led by the Yug (South) and Vostok (East) military groups.
Other Russian units reportedly strengthened their positions, capturing Western-supplied weapons and equipment, according to the ministry.
Since the start of the “special military operation,” Russia claims to have destroyed a total of 648 aircraft, 283 helicopters, 35,298 drones, 585 air defense systems, 19,063 tanks and other armored vehicles, 1,484 multiple rocket launchers, 17,368 artillery and mortar units, and 28,010 specialized military vehicles.
Ukraine has not yet responded to these claims, and independent confirmation remains difficult due to ongoing hostilities.
