A shooting at Tumbler Ridge Secondary School in British Columbia has left at least 10 people dead, including the suspected attacker, Canadian police confirmed on Tuesday.

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) responded to reports of an active shooter at the school in the small town of Tumbler Ridge.

Victims Found at School and Nearby Home

Officers found six people dead inside the school building. Another victim died while being transported to hospital.

In addition, police discovered two more victims at a nearby home that investigators believe is connected to the school attack.

The RCMP reported that officers located the individual believed to be responsible for the shooting. Police said the suspect died from what appears to be a self-inflicted injury.

Meanwhile, emergency teams airlifted two people to hospital with serious or life-threatening injuries. Medical staff are also treating around 25 others at a local medical centre for non-life-threatening injuries.
