Top Indian, US diplomats meet before Trump’s return

Indian Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar held what could be his final meeting with outgoing US Secretary of State Antony Blinken in Washington, ahead of Donald Trump’s return to the White House next month. The two diplomats discussed the progress made in their partnership over the past four years, with Jaishankar expressing satisfaction about the strengthening cooperation between India and the US. He shared his confidence that their growing relationship would continue to benefit both nations and contribute to global stability.

Jaishankar’s visit comes as India and the US have seen a significant deepening of ties under the Biden administration. Key achievements include a strategic technology partnership and increased defense collaboration, alongside a rise in bilateral trade, which hit $190.1 billion, making the US India’s largest trading partner.
