Cuban American Investment Plans Gain White House Support

US President Donald Trump said Washington is committed to helping the Cuban people as the island continues to battle severe economic hardship, food shortages, and a worsening electricity crisis.

Speaking at the White House, Trump dismissed claims that the recent deployment of a US aircraft carrier near Cuba was intended as a military warning to Havana. He insisted the move carried no hostile message and instead emphasized his administration’s humanitarian approach toward the struggling nation.

Trump described Cuba as a country facing deep economic collapse, pointing to shortages of food, money, and reliable electricity. He stated that the United States intends to support the Cuban population during the crisis and assist efforts aimed at long-term recovery.

The president also highlighted the role of Cuban Americans, especially those living in Florida and Miami, praising the community for its hard work and strong connection to its homeland. According to Trump, many Cuban Americans hope to one day return to Cuba, invest in local development, and help rebuild the country’s economy.
