Trump Meets Argentina’s Milei Before Summit

Ahead of the summit, CBS reported that Donald Trump met with Argentina’s President Javier Milei. Speaking at the America First Policy Institute gala, Milei, who describes himself as an “anarcho-capitalist,” praised Trump’s victory, saying the “winds of freedom” were stronger since then. He criticized tax systems that he believes unfairly redistribute wealth and expressed admiration for Elon Musk, calling his social media platform X a tool to “save humanity.” Milei had previously met Trump at CPAC in February, where they shared a warm greeting and posed for photos.

During Milei’s speech, Trump called him a “MAGA person” and praised his leadership. Milei has expressed interest in negotiating a free trade agreement with the U.S. if Trump returns to power, stating that Trump’s administration would be more comfortable working with him than other governments.

The CPAC Investor Summit, where the two met, is a high-profile event, with tickets priced up to $25,000. CPAC, a major conservative gathering, aims to uphold values such as life, liberty, and property.
