Türkiye, Egypt, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia jointly condemned what they described as hostile attacks by Yemen’s Houthi movement against Saudi Arabia, including a deadly strike on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh on Saturday.
In a joint statement released Sunday, the four countries denounced the attacks, which resulted in civilian deaths and injuries and damaged civilian infrastructure. They said the strikes constituted a serious violation of international law.
The countries described the incidents as a dangerous escalation that threatened Saudi Arabia’s security and stability, as well as the safety of civilians. They stressed that such attacks were unacceptable and could not be justified under any circumstances.
The four governments reaffirmed their solidarity with Riyadh and expressed support for legitimate measures taken by Saudi Arabia to counter threats, protect its territory and prevent further attacks.
They also held the Houthi movement responsible for the consequences of its actions, warning that continued hostilities could undermine regional and international peace and security.
The joint statement called for an immediate and unconditional cessation of all attacks against Saudi Arabia.
Meanwhile, the death toll from Saturday’s strike on King Khalid International Airport increased to 13 after an injured Indian national died on Sunday. Saudi authorities reported that the attack had also left 309 people injured.
