UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa held talks in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday, focusing on ways to strengthen relations and expand cooperation between the two countries.
According to the UAE’s official news agency WAM, the discussions covered several areas of bilateral cooperation, with particular attention given to economic and development sectors.
The two leaders reviewed relations between their countries and discussed opportunities to deepen cooperation in ways that support shared interests, economic growth and development for both nations.
They also exchanged views on regional and international developments, particularly the situation in the Middle East and its potential impact on regional security and stability.
The leaders emphasized the importance of continued efforts to strengthen regional and international security and stability while supporting the interests and development of people across the region.
Earlier on Tuesday, al-Sharaa attended the 24th Arab Media Summit at the Dubai World Trade Centre in Dubai. He delivered the keynote address during a session titled “Syria of the Future.”
WAM reported that the Syrian president departed the UAE after concluding his visit. He was seen off by UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan and other senior officials.
