The UK has announced a new £100 million air defense package to strengthen Ukraine’s ability to protect itself from Russian attacks during the coming winter.
According to Britain’s Defense Ministry, the package will include air defense interceptors, large-caliber artillery ammunition and drones. The assistance will be provided through NATO’s Prioritized Ukraine Requirements List initiative.
The announcement follows a recent visit to Kyiv by British Prime Minister Andy Burnham and Defense Secretary Wes Streeting. Britain said its wider commitment to supply more than 120,000 drones to Ukraine during 2026 remains on track, with around 25,000 already delivered. Deliveries are expected to increase before winter.
The drones will include systems designed to intercept Russian drones as well as reconnaissance equipment used for surveillance. The additional air defense resources are intended to help Ukraine protect its territory and critical infrastructure during the colder months.
Streeting reaffirmed Britain’s support for Ukraine, saying the UK would continue standing alongside the country until it achieves victory and that British assistance would remain firm.
