Apple announced new and expanded partnerships with American manufacturers on Tuesday to secure essential materials and advanced components for its upcoming iPhone Duo and iPhone 18 Pro models.
The agreements involve Pennsylvania-based titanium producer Perryman Company and Delaware-headquartered Qnity Electronics. According to Apple, the partnerships are part of its American Manufacturing Program, which aims to strengthen domestic production.
Apple has pledged up to $100 million over three years to Perryman, which will provide titanium for several products, including the iPhone Duo, the company’s first foldable smartphone. Perryman plans to use at least 80% recycled material in the titanium manufactured for the device’s exterior.
Apple is also expanding its collaboration with Qnity Electronics to produce advanced films in the United States for the variable-aperture camera system featured in the iPhone 18 Pro.
The technology, incorporated into the device’s 48-megapixel Fusion Main camera, automatically regulates the amount of light entering the lens. This allows the camera to capture more light in dim environments while preserving finer details in brighter conditions.
Apple stated that American companies manufacture nearly 100 components used in the two iPhone models, with suppliers spread across more than a dozen states.
Its US manufacturing network includes companies such as Broadcom, Corning, Coherent, Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) and Amkor Technology.
By the end of 2026, Corning’s facility in Kentucky is expected to manufacture all the cover glass used in iPhone and Apple Watch products sold worldwide. Meanwhile, TSMC’s Arizona plant is projected to produce more than 100 million chips for Apple during the year.
The company added that it collaborates with suppliers in all 50 US states and supports more than 450,000 jobs across the country.
These initiatives form part of Apple’s four-year commitment of $600 billion toward American manufacturing and innovation, with the broader objective of increasing domestic production of advanced materials and critical components.
