Airstrikes Target Energy Facilities in Russia and Ukraine

On Saturday, Russia and Ukraine engaged in a series of airstrikes, primarily targeting each other’s energy infrastructures. In Russia, a Ukrainian drone attack severely damaged an oil refinery in Slavyansk-on-Kuban, causing a significant fire, with damage assessments pending until after cleanup efforts. In response, Russia claimed to have intercepted 66 drones over Krasnodar. Simultaneously, Ukrainian energy firms, including Naftogaz and DTEK, reported significant damage to natural gas facilities and thermal power plants from Russian strikes, though Naftogaz confirmed that service to consumers would remain uninterrupted. Ukrainian Energy Minister German Galushchenko noted that energy facilities across several regions were also hit.–News Desk
