U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers seized approximately $739,000 worth of cocaine at the Hidalgo International Bridge during a routine vehicle inspection.

CBP officers directed a vehicle for further inspection, where they discovered over 57 pounds (26 kg) of cocaine hidden inside. The narcotics were promptly confiscated, and the driver was handed over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement-Homeland Security Investigations (ICE-HSI) for further investigation.

“CBP officers remain vigilant and use every available tool to intercept dangerous drugs before they reach our communities,” said Port Director Carlos Rodriguez.

The agency emphasized its commitment to disrupting transnational criminal networks and preventing illegal drugs from entering the United States.
