Drones Spotted Over US Air Bases in UK

The US Air Force has reported that several small drones were detected near three bases in eastern England used by American forces. The incident, which began on Tuesday, follows recent sightings of drones near RAF Lakenheath, RAF Mildenhall, and RAF Feltwell. These drones were closely monitored after being spotted near or over the bases, according to a statement from US Air Forces Europe on Sunday.

The Air Force has not disclosed the identity of those responsible for the drone incursions. Authorities are taking unspecified measures to address the situation.

RAF Lakenheath hosts the 48th Fighter Wing, considered a key part of the US’s combat capabilities in Europe, while RAF Mildenhall is home to the 100th Air Refueling Wing. RAF Feltwell provides various services, including housing and schools. All three bases are located near one another in Suffolk and Norfolk counties and are primarily used by the US Air Force.
