Europe Expresses Solidarity With Saudi Arabia After Strike

German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul strongly denounced the incident in a post on X, describing it as a terrorist act targeting Saudi Arabia and civil aviation.
UK Foreign Secretary Ed Miliband also expressed shock over the attack and reaffirmed Britain’s support for those affected, according to the BBC.
France’s Foreign Ministry issued a statement condemning the strike and extending condolences to the victims. It reaffirmed France’s support for Saudi Arabia in protecting its territory and infrastructure while urging the Houthi movement to stop its attacks immediately.
Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni also condemned the incident and expressed solidarity with Riyadh. She pledged continued cooperation with regional partners to promote stability and ensure freedom of navigation, stressing that attacks on civilians and civilian facilities were unacceptable.
Dutch Foreign Minister Tom Berendsen similarly denounced the attack and expressed the Netherlands’ support for Saudi Arabia and its Gulf partners.
Spain’s Foreign Ministry condemned what it described as a brutal Houthi terrorist attack against Riyadh’s international airport. It reaffirmed its solidarity with Saudi Arabia and Yemen’s internationally recognized government while calling for de-escalation and a negotiated settlement under United Nations auspices. Madrid also urged the implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 2216.
Austrian Chancellor Christian Stocker also strongly condemned the incident, describing attacks on civilian infrastructure as unjustifiable. He expressed Austria’s solidarity with Saudi Arabia and everyone affected by the violence.
According to Saudi Arabia’s civil aviation authority, Saturday’s attack killed 12 people, including four Saudi nationals, two Bangladeshi citizens and one citizen each from the United States, Egypt, Jordan, Syria, Palestine and Sudan.
The incident occurred amid escalating tensions following several Houthi missile and drone attacks targeting Saudi airports and other facilities in recent days.
