A blaze broke out on Sunday night in an eight-story building near Dubai’s Mall of the Emirates, triggering an immediate response from the Dubai Civil Defence. The fire, which started on the building’s front facade, was reported at 10:33 PM. Firefighters from Al Barsha Fire Station reached the scene within five minutes, and by 11:05 PM, they had the flames under control. The cooling phase began shortly after, at 11:48 PM, with no casualties reported.
Eyewitnesses confirmed that the building was evacuated swiftly as firefighting efforts kicked in. Social media videos captured emergency crews working tirelessly to douse the flames. On Monday, the building’s facade showed significant damage, blackened with soot, while ground-floor shops remained shut.
Authorities quickly cordoned off the surrounding streets for safety and to aid in the operation, keeping just one lane open for passing traffic. As of now, the Civil Defence has not revealed the cause of the fire, and investigations are ongoing.
