Two Reported Dead in Gaza Amid Continued Strikes Despite Ceasefire
At least two Palestinians were killed on Tuesday in separate Israeli strikes in the Gaza Strip, according to a medical source, amid ongoing reports of ceasefire violations.
The source said a drone strike hit a tent sheltering displaced civilians in the Bir Ayyad area of southern Khan Younis, killing one person and injuring another. In a separate incident, another Palestinian was killed and several others were wounded when a motorcycle was targeted west of Khan Younis.
Local health authorities report that casualties continue to occur despite the ceasefire agreement that has been in place since October 2025.
According to Gaza’s Health Ministry, more than a thousand people have been killed and thousands injured since the ceasefire took effect, though the figures have not been independently verified in this report.
The ceasefire followed a prolonged conflict that caused extensive destruction across Gaza and resulted in significant loss of life and damage to civilian infrastructure, according to UN assessments. Reconstruction needs remain substantial as humanitarian conditions continue to be severe.
