President Herzog Announces Recipients of Israeli Presidential Medal of Honour
President Isaac Herzog announced today (Sunday) the names of those who will receive the 2025 Israeli Presidential Medal of Honour.
The Presidential Medal of Honour is the highest civilian recognition awarded by the State of Israel. It is given to individuals who, through their achievements, service, or dedication, have made an exceptional contribution to Israel or to humanity. The award was first introduced in 2012 by then-President Shimon Peres.
When President Herzog took office, he formed an advisory committee led by retired Supreme Court Justice Professor Yoram Danziger to recommend candidates for the honour. Since then, the award has been presented to leading figures in Israel and abroad, including heads of state, social pioneers, and Jewish leaders from around the world.
This year’s medal recipients will be formally honoured at a special ceremony hosted at the President’s Residence later in the year.
