US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee visited the occupied West Bank on Saturday and described attacks by Israeli settlers against Palestinians as acts of terrorism.
During his visit to Turmus Ayya near Ramallah, Huckabee met Palestinian-Americans and listened to their accounts of violence, intimidation and difficulties affecting their homes and property.
Huckabee said the United States would continue urging authorities to ensure that people living in these communities can feel safe and secure. He stressed that the Israeli government has a responsibility to protect residents from violence and intimidation.
Although Huckabee criticized attacks against Palestinians, he has also been associated with Christian Zionist views and has previously expressed support for Israeli control over large areas of the Middle East.
His visit comes as violence by Israeli settlers against Palestinians has increased across the occupied West Bank. According to the UN, such attacks reached unprecedented levels, with more than 1,430 incidents involving casualties or property damage recorded during 2026 up to early August.
