Three Injured in Shooting at Idaho Sheriff’s Office
Three people were injured after an armed man opened fire inside and outside a sheriff’s office in northern Idaho on Friday before police fatally shot him during a standoff, officials confirmed.
According to Shoshone County Sheriff William Eddy, the suspect arrived at the sheriff’s office in Wallace armed with multiple firearms. He first fired at a pickup truck parked outside the building and then entered the lobby, where he shot toward the dispatch area.
Heavy Police Response and Standoff
Following the attack, law enforcement agencies from across the region quickly responded. A SWAT team and multiple officers arrived at the scene at approximately 2:40 p.m. PT, the sheriff’s office said.
Soon after, officers engaged the suspect in an armed confrontation. Authorities pronounced the gunman dead at 4:15 p.m. after an officer-involved shooting, Sheriff Eddy told reporters.
Investigation Ongoing
Officials have not released any details about the suspect’s identity or motive. Investigators continue to examine the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
