Turkish Stock Exchange Hits New Record on Tuesday
BIST 100 Index Rises Over 130 Points
The Turkish benchmark BIST 100 index closed Tuesday at a record high of 12,385.61 points, up 1.07% from Monday’s close. The index started the day at 12,261.38 points and gained 130.78 points by the session’s end.
During the day, the index reached a low of 12,235.95 and peaked at 12,428.44. Out of all listed indexes, 70 recorded gains, while 27 ended with losses.
Trading Volume and Market Value
The total transaction volume reached 192.9 billion Turkish liras ($4.47 billion), with the overall market capitalization standing at 12.17 trillion liras ($282.8 billion).
Currency rates at 6:20 pm local time (1520 GMT) were USD/TRY 43.1625, EUR/TRY 50.3250, and GBP/TRY 58.0775. Gold traded at $4,607.50 per ounce, while Brent crude oil stood at $65.15 per barrel.
The market’s strong performance reflects investor confidence in Turkey’s financial sector, with many expecting continued gains in the coming sessions.
