Israeli Forces Enter Syrian Village Amid Paris Talks
Israeli military vehicles entered the village of Saida al-Golan in the Quneitra countryside of southern Syria on Tuesday, according to an Al Jazeera correspondent on the ground.
Twelve vehicles crossed into the area, marking another violation of Syrian sovereignty. Observers note that Israel has regularly extended its presence in Syrian territory and conducted raids and bombardments since the fall of President Bashar al-Assad.
Incursion coincides with diplomatic talks
The latest incursion comes as a Syrian delegation meets Israeli officials in Paris for a new round of negotiations. The talks are coordinated and mediated by the United States, according to Syrian state news agency SANA.
The entry of Israeli forces into Saida al-Golan underscores ongoing tensions in southern Syria, even as diplomatic efforts continue to seek dialogue between the two countries.
