Moscow concert hall attack death toll rises to 143

The death toll from the tragic concert hall attack in the Moscow region last week has climbed to 143, as reported by Russia’s Emergency Situations Ministry. The update came late Wednesday, with the ministry indicating that the count is based on the latest data from the Russian Health Ministry as of 8:15 p.m. local time. The ministry also noted that the toll could be revised pending further forensic analysis.

The Russian Investigative Committee has been actively investigating the incident, having received 143 reports concerning missing relatives or loved ones following the attack at Crocus City Hall in Krasnogorsk. In response to the incident, which occurred on Friday, authorities have detained 11 individuals near the Bryansk border region, en route to Ukraine, including four who are believed to be directly involved in the attack.

These four suspects have been charged with terrorism by Moscow’s Basmanny District Court, which has ordered their pre-trial detention until May 22 as investigations continue into this devastating event.–Web Desk
