Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met with Israel National Defense College cadets today at the Prime Minister’s Office in Jerusalem, briefing them on the ongoing combat in the Gaza Strip and Israel’s broader security challenges, particularly those posed by Iran.
Netanyahu highlighted the significant achievements of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) in various sectors, with a focus on the Gaza Strip. He urged the cadets to continue their dedicated efforts to ensure the security of Israel as they prepare to take on key roles within the security establishment.
“I returned yesterday from a visit to the Gaza Division. I saw very considerable achievements in the fighting being carried out in Rafah. We are advancing to the end of the stage of eliminating the Hamas terrorist army; we will continue striking its remnants,” Netanyahu said, emphasizing the ongoing efforts to neutralize Hamas.
He praised the IDF’s performance both above and below ground and the commanders’ fighting spirit. “With this spirit we will achieve our objectives: returning our hostages, eliminating Hamas’s military and governing capabilities, ensuring that Gaza will not constitute a threat, and also returning our residents securely to their homes in both the south and the north.”
Netanyahu expressed confidence in Israel’s security forces, including reservists, conscripts, the IDF, and other security services, stating that they are capable of overcoming the nation’s enemies.
The meeting included Netanyahu’s Military Secretary, Maj.-Gen. Roman Gofman, and the Head of the IDF Depth Corps and the Military Colleges, Maj.-Gen. Nimrod Aloni. Cadets from the militaries of Germany, Singapore, Japan, Italy, the Czech Republic, and South Korea also attended the briefing.–News Desk
