Kabul, April 19 – Pakistan and Afghanistan have reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing bilateral cooperation, with a strong focus on regional security, trade, transit, and connectivity.
The agreement was reached during high-level delegation talks in Kabul between Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Afghanistan’s Acting Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi.
The discussions emphasized the need for continued high-level engagement to address shared concerns and foster closer ties between the two neighboring countries.
Key issues on the agenda included regional trade, effective border management, and promoting people-to-people exchanges. Dar highlighted the urgent need to resolve outstanding security and border issues to unlock the full potential of regional integration and economic cooperation.
The Pakistani delegation, comprising senior officials from the Ministries of Interior, Railways, Foreign Affairs, and the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), was warmly welcomed upon arrival in Kabul for the one-day visit.
Both sides agreed to maintain momentum in bilateral relations and work collaboratively toward peace, stability, and economic growth in the region.
