Parliament to Decide on Gaza Peace Mission, Says FO
ISLAMABAD: Foreign Office spokesperson Tahir Hussain Andrabi stated that Pakistan’s Parliament will decide whether to send a peacekeeping mission to Gaza, emphasizing that no such decision has been made yet.
Clarification on Indian Media Claims
Addressing recent reports in Indian media, Andrabi strongly rejected allegations of secret meetings between Pakistani intelligence officials and foreign agencies over financial dealings. He described these reports as “fabricated stories” aimed at spreading misinformation.
“Pakistan has not met any foreign intelligence agency nor sought funds in return for troop deployment in Gaza,” Andrabi clarified, adding that Indian media often publishes baseless and misleading claims about Pakistan.
Decision Rests with Parliament
Reiterating Pakistan’s stance, the spokesperson said that only Parliament holds the authority to decide on sending peacekeeping forces abroad. He reaffirmed that no proposal for troop deployment to Gaza is currently under discussion.
Andrabi concluded that Pakistan remains committed to supporting peace and humanitarian efforts through lawful and transparent procedures determined by its constitutional institutions.
