Philippine Vice President Sara Duterte Resigns from President Marcos Jr’s Cabinet

Philippine Vice President Sara Duterte has resigned from the Cabinet of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., an official announced on Wednesday.

“Vice President Sara Z. Duterte went to Malacañang and tendered her resignation as Member of the Cabinet, Secretary of the Department of Education, and Vice Chairperson of the NTF-ELCAC, effective 19 July 2024,” stated the president’s office on X.

Despite stepping down from these roles, Duterte will continue to serve as the country’s vice president.

Presidential Communications Office Secretary Cheloy Garafil did not provide further details regarding the reasons behind Duterte’s resignation from the Cabinet.–News Desk
