Herzog Urges Global Action After IAEA Report Exposes Iran’s Nuclear Ambitions
June 1, 2025 – Jerusalem — Israeli President Isaac Herzog issued a stark warning to the international community following the release of a searing new report by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), which he described as “damning” and “unprecedented” in its condemnation of Iran’s nuclear activities.
According to the IAEA’s findings, Iran has significantly escalated its uranium enrichment efforts, obstructed inspector access, and violated key provisions of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT). The report presents what Herzog called a “blaring red alert” to global leaders.
“This report exposes Iran’s true intention: acquiring a nuclear bomb,” Herzog said in a strongly worded statement. “Iran is flagrantly violating its core obligations and pushing forward with a nuclear weapons program under the cover of deception.”
Calling Iran “the head of the snake of terror and destruction in the Middle East,” Herzog warned that Tehran’s pursuit of nuclear capability poses a direct threat not only to Israel but to global peace and security.
“The international community must not look away — it must act now,” he emphasized. “Stopping Iran’s nuclear capabilities is non-negotiable. This report’s unprecedented severity leaves no room for hesitation.”
Herzog urged world powers to respond with immediate and decisive measures, warning that failure to do so would embolden further regional instability and nuclear proliferation.
The IAEA’s findings are likely to reignite international debate over enforcement mechanisms, diplomatic engagement, and the future of non-proliferation efforts. As the Middle East remains on edge, Herzog’s call underscores the urgency of addressing what Israel considers an existential threat.
