The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecasted the arrival of a new rain system on January 14, 2025, which is expected to bring relief to areas currently grappling with dense fog.
As of January 10, dry weather prevails across Punjab, including Lahore, where dense fog has significantly reduced visibility, causing traffic disruptions. In some regions, visibility has been recorded as low as 50 meters due to the thick fog. The minimum temperature in Lahore was 5°C, with a maximum expected temperature of 17°C.
The incoming rain system is anticipated to alleviate these conditions by bringing rainfall across various regions, thereby reducing the intensity of fog in affected areas. This development is expected to improve visibility and ease traffic conditions.
In Karachi and throughout Sindh, the ongoing cold wave is expected to persist, with the PMD predicting continued cold and dry conditions for the next two days. In Karachi, temperatures have dipped as low as 8°C to 9°C during this period, with a maximum temperature range of 25°C to 27°C.
Residents are advised to stay updated with the latest weather forecasts and exercise caution while traveling, especially in areas affected by dense fog.
