Amman, Jordan – January 16, 2025 – Royal Jordanian Airlines is set to resume direct flights between Amman and Damascus starting January 31, 2025, operating four weekly flights. This marks a significant step in reconnecting Syria to Royal Jordanian’s extensive global network spanning Europe, the U.S., the Levant, and the Gulf.
For the past two years, the airline has facilitated travel via daily bus routes between Amman Airport and Syria. By April 2025, the frequency of flights will increase to daily service. The 25-minute flight will be the shortest air route from Damascus, offering seamless global connections through RJ’s network of 45+ destinations. Tickets are available now at www.rj.com or via travel agents.
CEO Samer Majali emphasized RJ’s role in restoring international connectivity to Syria:
“Amman has long served as a gateway to Syria, enabling travelers from the U.S. and Europe to reach the region. We are pleased to reconnect Damascus with four weekly flights, expanding to daily service soon.”
This move aligns with Royal Jordanian’s expansion strategy, aiming to grow from 25 to 41 aircraft by 2027. The fleet upgrade includes the A320Neo, Embraer E2 Jets, and B787-9, with new A320Neo aircraft featuring enhanced inflight entertainment, WiFi, and upgraded seating arriving in March 2025.–PR by RJ
