Russia claims a village in Kharkiv region

On Wednesday, Russia announced that it had taken control of a settlement in Ukraine’s northeastern Kharkiv region. The Russian Defense Ministry stated that its forces captured the village of Kruhlyakivka, located approximately 21 kilometers (13 miles) south of Kupiansk, a key area in Moscow’s offensive. Both Kruhlyakivka and Kupiansk lie along the Oskil River, a tributary of the Donets River, which flows into the Don River, Europe’s fourth-largest river. Ukrainian authorities have not yet responded to Russia’s claim, and independent verification remains challenging due to the ongoing conflict.
