Saudi Arabia, Kuwait Discover Oil in Neutral Wafra Zone

Saudi Arabia and Kuwait have jointly announced a significant oil discovery in the neutral zone’s Wafra field, signaling a promising boost to regional energy output. The newly uncovered reserves are estimated to produce over 500 barrels of oil per day, underscoring the strategic value of the shared territory between the two Gulf nations.

The announcement was made following successful exploration and drilling efforts carried out collaboratively by both countries. Officials from Saudi Aramco and the Kuwait Gulf Oil Company emphasized that this find enhances the region’s production capacity and reflects ongoing cooperation in energy development.

Located in the Partitioned Neutral Zone between Saudi Arabia and Kuwait, the Wafra field has historically been a point of joint resource management. The discovery is expected to attract further investment in exploration and strengthen bilateral ties in the oil sector.

Both governments reaffirmed their commitment to continued exploration and development in the neutral zone, aiming to maximize mutual economic benefit while contributing to global energy supply stability.
