Thousands were evacuated in Indonesia following eruptions at Mount Ruang, a remote volcano in North Sulawesi, which triggered fears of a potential tsunami. The eruptions, occurring three times on Tuesday, sent ash and lava over 5 kilometers into the sky and spread ash to neighboring Malaysia. The Indonesian meteorological agency BMKG has heightened alerts and imposed a 7-kilometer exclusion zone around the volcano.
