TAMPA, Fla. – Over the past 24 hours, U.S. Central Command (USCENTCOM) forces have successfully neutralized significant threats posed by Iranian-backed Houthi militants in the Red Sea and Yemen.
In a coordinated operation, USCENTCOM forces destroyed two Houthi uncrewed surface vessels (USVs) in the Red Sea. In a separate strike, they eliminated a ground control station and a command and control node located in a Houthi-controlled area of Yemen.
These actions were deemed necessary as the systems represented an imminent threat to U.S. forces, coalition forces, and merchant vessels operating in the region. The objective was to safeguard freedom of navigation and ensure the safety and security of international waters for U.S., coalition, and commercial shipping.–News Desk
