Western Weather System Brings Drizzle to Karachi, Rain to Balochistan

A western weather system is currently affecting the western parts of the country and is expected to move towards the northern regions from Monday, according to the Meteorological Department’s Early Warning Centre.

Under its influence, light rain or drizzle may occur in coastal areas of Sindh. Karachi is likely to see partly cloudy skies today, with a chance of light drizzle during the day.

Karachi Weather Outlook

On Tuesday, cloudy conditions are expected to persist in Karachi, while mist may develop during the morning hours.

Over the next two days, temperatures in the city are likely to remain moderate. The minimum temperature is expected to hover around 17°C, while the maximum may rise to about 30°C. Northeasterly and south-westerly sea winds are also forecast.

Meanwhile, dry weather is expected to prevail in most parts of Sindh, although nights will remain relatively cold.

Rain and Snowfall Forecast for Balochistan

In Balochistan, the Meteorological Department has forecast cold weather across most districts, with skies ranging from partly cloudy to overcast.

Rain, along with snowfall over mountainous areas, is expected in Quetta, Ziarat, Pishin, Chaman, Qilla Abdullah, and Qilla Saifullah. In addition, rain is likely in Zhob, Musa Khel, Mastung, Kalat, Turbat, Chaghi, Gwadar, and Kharan.

Temperature Update

The Met Office reported that Quetta recorded a minimum temperature of 0°C, while Kalat and Ziarat both saw temperatures drop to -1°C. Zhob recorded a minimum of 4°C.

Elsewhere, Sibi recorded 12°C, Turbat 16°C, Nokkundi 9°C, and Chaman 6°C. In the coastal belt of Balochistan, Gwadar recorded a minimum temperature of 13°C, while Jiwani saw 15°C.
