Xi Jinping Meets Spain’s Sanchez to Strengthen Economic Ties
High-Level Talks in Beijing
Xi Jinping held talks with Pedro Sanchez in Beijing on Tuesday, according to official reports.
While authorities have not released detailed outcomes, the meeting highlights growing engagement between the two countries.
Focus on Trade and Strategic Cooperation
Sanchez arrived in China on Saturday for a five-day visit, marking his fourth trip since taking office. During this visit, both sides aim to strengthen economic relations and build greater strategic trust.
In addition, discussions focus on expanding cooperation in key areas such as technology, trade, and green energy.
Growing Bilateral Relations
The visit follows a recent diplomatic milestone. About five months ago, Felipe VI completed a state visit to China, the first by a Spanish monarch in nearly two decades.
At the same time, economic ties between the two countries continue to grow. Bilateral trade exceeded $55 billion last year, with China remaining Spain’s largest trading partner outside the European Union.
Strengthening Long-Term Partnership
Overall, the visit reflects ongoing efforts by both nations to deepen cooperation and expand long-term partnerships across multiple sectors.
