Xi Jinping Meets Spain’s Sanchez to Strengthen Economic Ties

Xi Jinping held talks with Pedro Sanchez in Beijing on Tuesday, according to official reports.

Sanchez arrived in China on Saturday for a five-day visit, marking his fourth trip since taking office. During this visit, both sides aim to strengthen economic relations and build greater strategic trust.

In addition, discussions focus on expanding cooperation in key areas such as technology, trade, and green energy.

Growing Bilateral Relations

The visit follows a recent diplomatic milestone. About five months ago, Felipe VI completed a state visit to China, the first by a Spanish monarch in nearly two decades.

At the same time, economic ties between the two countries continue to grow. Bilateral trade exceeded $55 billion last year, with China remaining Spain’s largest trading partner outside the European Union.
