TEHRAN: Iran’s foreign minister expressed regret Friday over an upcoming summit in Poland aimed at pressuring Tehran.
“Polish Govt can’t wash the shame: while Iran saved Poles in WWII, it now hosts desperate anti-Iran circus,” Javad Zarif said on Twitter.
“Reminder to host/participants of anti-Iran conference: those who attended last US anti-Iran show are either dead, disgraced, or marginalized. And Iran is stronger than ever.”
Earlier Friday, U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo announced that the U.S. and Poland will jointly host the Ministerial to Promote a Future of Peace and Security in the Middle East in Warsaw from Feb. 13-14 with a focus on Iran.
Pompeo made the announcement during a tour of the Middle East aimed at reassuring allies following U.S. President Donald Trump’s decision in December to withdraw all American troops from Syria.–AA
