Three Turkish museums have been nominated for the 2025 European Museum of the Year Awards (EMYA), which honor outstanding museum concepts and promote innovative practices in museology. The nominees include Istanbul Modern, focusing on modern and contemporary art; the Isbank Painting and Sculpture Museum, showcasing key works of Turkish art; and the Bodrum Museum of Underwater Archaeology, located in Bodrum Castle since 1964.
Other nominees are museums from Austria, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, and Italy. The nominees will gather for the EMYA Annual Conference in Bialystok, Poland, from May 21 to 25, 2024, with winners announced on May 24.
