Gaza, April 20 – At least 92 Palestinians have lost their lives, and over 219 have been injured in a renewed wave of Israeli airstrikes on the Gaza Strip, according to the territory’s Health Ministry. The strikes, conducted between April 17 and 19, have intensified the already dire humanitarian situation, leaving many trapped under debris or isolated in inaccessible zones.
The latest assaults included an overnight strike on displaced civilians’ tents in Khan Younis, killing at least 15 children, and another deadly raid in Rafah that took the lives of a mother, her daughter, and two others, as reported by the European Hospital.
“For most civilians, nightfall means terror and agony,” said Al Jazeera journalist Tareq Abu Azzoum, reporting from central Gaza. “No one is safe—not in homes, tents, or shelters.”
These attacks coincide with Israel’s six-week blockade on humanitarian aid, including food, medical supplies, and fuel—a blockade maintained in defiance of an International Court of Justice (ICJ) order demanding immediate aid access to Gaza.
Humanitarian organizations have raised alarms over the escalating famine, especially among children.
“Children are surviving on less than one meal a day, uncertain where their next will come from,” warned aid worker Bushra Khalidi.
The continued violence and blockade have worsened Gaza’s humanitarian catastrophe, prompting urgent calls from international bodies for an immediate ceasefire and unimpeded aid delivery.
