
The peak electricity price for one megawatt-hour on Turkey’s day-ahead spot market for Friday is set to reach 3,000 Turkish liras at 6 p.m. local time (1500 GMT), according to official data released on Thursday.
Conversely, the lowest price recorded will be 863.63 liras at 12 p.m. local time (0900 GMT), as per the figures.
Data from the Energy Exchange Istanbul (EXIST) indicates that the trading volume for Friday’s electricity market has dropped by 0.85% to approximately 1.41 billion liras compared to Thursday.
The arithmetic and weighted average electricity prices on the day-ahead spot market are calculated at 2,336.75 liras and 2,359.63 liras, respectively.
For Thursday, the highest electricity price for one megawatt-hour was set at 2,990 Turkish liras at 8 a.m. local time (0500 GMT), while the lowest price was 550 liras at 12 p.m. local time (0900 GMT).
As of 2:26 p.m. local time (1126 GMT) on Thursday, the exchange rate stands at US$1 equal to 34.24 liras.
