ISTANBUL – On Tuesday, Russia announced that its forces had captured two more settlements in eastern Ukraine amid ongoing military operations.
According to a statement from the Russian Ministry of Defense, Russian troops seized the village of Romanivka, located around 10 kilometers south of Kurakhove, a significant Ukrainian stronghold in the Donetsk region. Romanivka is near a thermal power plant.
Additionally, Russia claimed to have taken control of Novodarivka, situated about 110 kilometers east of Zaporizhzhia.
As of now, Russian officials have not provided further details, and independent verification of these claims remains challenging due to the ongoing conflict.
