Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan attended the opening ceremony of the 6th World Nomad Games in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, on Monday.
Erdogan arrived at Bishkek Arena Stadium alongside First Lady Emine Erdogan, where they were welcomed by Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov and his wife, Aigul Japarova.
The two presidential couples briefly exchanged greetings and posed for a commemorative photograph before Erdogan joined other leaders to watch the opening celebrations.
During the parade of participating countries, Erdogan and Emine Erdogan stood and applauded as the Turkish delegation entered the stadium.
Emine Erdogan later shared her thoughts on social media, saying they were pleased to attend the ceremony while visiting Bishkek for the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit.
She highlighted the event as an opportunity to witness the cultural richness of nomadic societies and the continuation of traditions that have been passed down through generations.
She also congratulated Kyrgyzstan on the 35th anniversary of its independence, expressing wishes for peace, prosperity and well-being for the Kyrgyz people.
