An attack on King Khalid International Airport in Saudi Arabia’s capital, Riyadh, injured several people on Sunday afternoon, according to the country’s General Authority of Civil Aviation.
The aviation authority said officials were assessing the damage and conducting safety inspections across airport facilities in coordination with the relevant agencies. However, it did not disclose the number of injured people or provide details about the severity of their injuries.
Earlier, the Saudi-led coalition reported that an unidentified projectile had struck Terminal 4 of the airport, triggering a fire.
The coalition confirmed that emergency and relevant authorities were responding to the incident and working to address the blaze.
