Austin III engaged in a conversation with Israeli Minister of Defense Yoav Gallant today to address the urgent need for increased humanitarian assistance to Palestinian civilians in Gaza. This assistance is to be facilitated through the Kerem Shalom and Rafah crossings. Secretary Austin provided updates on the U.S. progress towards opening the maritime corridor to expedite the delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza.
During their discussion, Secretary Austin and Minister Gallant reviewed the latest efforts to secure the release of hostages held captive by Hamas.
