Canadian political leaders have expressed condolences following the death of a Canada Revenue Agency employee in Montreal.
The Union of Taxation Employees identified the victim as 45-year-old Leila Ben Salem, who was found dead in the city on Tuesday.
Montreal police discovered Ben Salem’s body during a welfare check at an apartment building undergoing renovations on René-Lévesque Boulevard West.
Prime Minister Mark Carney extended condolences to Ben Salem’s family, friends and colleagues on behalf of the federal government. Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre also paid tribute to the CRA employee.
