French Candidate Promises Withdrawal From NATO Command

Melenchon Outlines Foreign Policy Election Pledges

French presidential hopeful Jean-Luc Melenchon has pledged to implement the International Criminal Court’s arrest warrant against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu if he wins the 2027 presidential election.

The commitment was outlined in a newly released edition of The Common Future, which presents the official election platform of Melenchon, the candidate representing the France Unbowed (LFI) political movement.

The publication contains approximately 1,000 policy commitments covering several areas, including national defense, France’s relationship with NATO and the Palestinian issue.

According to the programme, Melenchon intends to enforce the ICC’s arrest warrant for Netanyahu if elected. He has also promised to remove France from NATO’s integrated military command immediately.

Additionally, the presidential candidate has called for France to formally recognize the killing of hundreds of Algerians by French police during a peaceful demonstration in Paris on October 17, 1961, as a crime committed by the state.
