Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant conducted an operational assessment at the IDF Operations Directorate command center this week, where he praised the military’s recent success in crippling Hezbollah’s forces in northern Israel. Gallant, alongside Maj. Gen. Oded Basiuk, Commander of the Directorate, emphasized that the IDF has delivered a significant blow to Hezbollah’s military infrastructure, which the group had built over two decades.
“Over the past day, we have been demolishing what Hezbollah has been building for 20 years,” Gallant said. He noted that entire Radwan units—Hezbollah’s elite fighting force—had been taken out of battle, and tens of thousands of rockets destroyed. Hezbollah’s leadership, including commanders at the regional and brigade levels, had suffered fatal losses. Gallant also pointed out that Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah now stands “alone at the top” as his forces have been severely weakened by Israeli strikes.
Gallant praised the IDF’s Air Force, Northern Command, Homefront Command, and Intelligence Directorate, describing their operations as highly impressive. He highlighted that the IDF had shifted its focus from the southern to the northern arena to ensure the safe return of Israel’s northern communities.
“This has been the most difficult week for Hezbollah since its establishment,” Gallant said. He underscored the IDF’s efforts in dismantling Hezbollah’s chain of command, degrading their rocket capabilities, and impacting their morale. Despite these achievements, Gallant cautioned that Hezbollah remains a threat, with the group planning further rocket attacks on Israel. He urged citizens to heed the warnings from Israel’s Homefront Command.
As tensions persist, Gallant’s statements reflect the ongoing Israeli efforts to neutralize the Hezbollah threat and restore security to northern Israel, while remaining vigilant for future challenges.–News Desk
