ISLAMABAD – The total number of Indian surveillance and combat drones downed by Pakistan has reached 77, according to security sources monitoring developments along the Line of Control (LoC).
The escalation comes amid intensified hostilities, with Indian forces reportedly targeting civilian areas along the LoC. In the latest incident, five civilians were martyred as a result of cross-border shelling by Indian troops, sparking widespread condemnation from Pakistani officials and humanitarian observers.
Security authorities stated that Pakistan’s air defense systems remain on high alert, actively countering repeated violations of its airspace. The downing of dozens of drones reflects both the scale of ongoing incursions and Pakistan’s capability to respond swiftly to such threats.
The rising toll on civilian lives has fueled fresh concerns in the international community, as tensions between the two nuclear-armed neighbors show no sign of de-escalation. Officials reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to safeguarding its territorial integrity while calling for global attention to Indian ceasefire violations.
